It is the end of the year, and just the other day we were happily wishing each other a Happy New Year. Well, let me start by saying that it has been a great year for all of us at the Optiven Group and now this is the time for Thanksgiving.
A career could be defined as an occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person’s life and offers opportunities for progress. Or a really long job, and who else other than the Optiven group CEO George Wachiuri, who has been in the business for more than 25 years, to delve into this intuitive subject matter.
Optimising performance means better results and the opposite means loss. Why is it important?
Readers lead and it is the only way that Africa is able to conquer the world. No one wants to remain static because everyone wants to progress and prosper. Everyone wants to achieve something and no one wants to be like stagnant water which has some stench. How do you maximize your time? Time is short indeed very short.
This month I was priviledged to be among the top leaders of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance KEPSA to celebrate industrialist and leading philanthropist Manu Chandaria. The magnet of entrepreneurship as I prefer to refer to Manu was celebrating his ninety third birthday on 20th September 2022.
Culture is about embracing the corporate vision and walking it. It’s the duty for all stakeholders to defend the vision and protect it. Be guided by the vision on how to behave. The vision also directs us to where we are headed.
All organizations function better when they have a strong culture. It aids recruiters in luring top talent and retaining them. Additionally, a successful corporate culture comprises of the crucial intangibles that govern how your team functions and does business. Your company culture shapes you in many ways and becomes a part of who you are.
What is your next step?
You must plan for the next step in advance for you to see it come forth. As you work you should see the end. Check out the end of day achievement to see how far you have come. Tick off what you have achieved to keep track of what you are doing. Reflect. Look back at what went right and repeat it.
Who are you? How can you discover yourself? To find yourself, first learn about yourself. It is an enlightening experience. You become self-sufficient and do things for yourself. It is hard to ignore what others say when you have self doubt. The process is not easy but worthy.

July begun with a unique meeting celebrating a living legend in Bishop William Tuimising. The celebration which was attended by clergy and laymen alike from all walks of life was manifest that Tuimising’s 60 years for service this 2022 were not a mirage that fades but instead a clear legacy worth of emulation and celebration.
