Work is one of the activities that takes up a lot of your time. For some it is the reason they exist although I insist work in itself is not all you are about. But how can you make work an enjoyable activity so as to attain success? Here are a few tips

1. Start by seeking and learning from feedback
When it is not positive feedback, it is tough and a difficult pill to swallow. If you are not receiving feedback, go out of the way and ask for it. Why is this important? This is necessary for your growth is dependent on it.

2. Go the extra mile
By going the extra mile, it makes things happen. Set a day to deliberately do something that is not on your job description. This can be sharing an innovative idea or taking up a new initiative on a task or project.

3. Set yourself up for success
This you can do by building your self confidence. It will also be a key ingredient towards best representing yourself and the brand. improve on your skills across the spectrum to enable you tap opportunities better. Then pursue your goals and go on to succeed.

4. Master time management
Time is by far more precious than any currency. You can plan your day early or the day before, as opposed to doing things in an ad hoc manner. You can schedule duties in advance giving priority to the hardest tasks first. This reminds me of the words of Mark Twain who says, “eat the frog first”. The analogy says, eating the frog is the process of identifying your most difficult task of the day and completing it before you do any other work. If you have to eat two frogs, eat the bigger one first. You could also apply the Pareto Principle which holds that, The Pareto principle (also known as the 80/20 rule) states that 80% of consequences come from 20% of actions – and for many thought leaders, this is becoming a way to prioritize tasks and enhance productivity.

5. Set goals for yourself
Do not compare yourself with others but instead push yourself to achieve your own goals. Well thought out goals serves as a road map for your own success. At the end of the day your goals will determine your success.

In conclusion, what you think determines who you are for you are a sum total of all your thoughts.
Go ahead, succeed.
